Sound It Out Speech Pathology can provide eligible speech pathology services under Medicare where an appropriate referral and treatment plan are in place.
Medicare-funded speech pathology may be available for some children and adolescents with a diagnosed or suspected complex neurodevelopmental disorder, autism spectrum disorder or eligible disability.
Eligibility, referral requirements and the number of available services depend on the relevant Medicare item and the individual circumstances of the child.
Families should speak with their GP, paediatrician or other eligible medical practitioner to determine whether their child may qualify for Medicare-funded speech pathology services.
Our team can assist with eligible assessments and therapy once the appropriate referral documentation has been provided.
